Route Summary: Llanbedrog - Iron Man Statue - Mount Pleasant - Mynydd Tir-y-Cwmwd - Llanbedrog.

Walk Summary: This was a nice short pleasant walk, though it was also unfortunately the only one Lisa, Rhiannon and I did together while on holiday.

Llanbedrog is an attractive village with an equally attractive bay. The steep climb up the roughly hewn steps was quite difficult with Rhiannon on my back but I made it. The headland of Mynydd Tir-y-cwmwd was very colourful with heather and gorse in flower. The eastern end also gave nice views to the Tudwal Islands while to the south there were good views down the coast to Abersoch.

As with the rest of the week though it was a very grey day and so the views and colours were not as good as they could have been. Near the trig there was a large stone cairn, a view guide to the Welsh mountains we would have seen had it been a nice day, and a bench where we had our picnic.

We didn’t hang around too long though as mist began to move in and obscure the views even from this modest height. The descent was a lot easier than the climb and all in all this was a pleasant morning out. Shame about the grey cloud though.
